"Work harder or you'll get laid off" is a terrible take.
Dramatic RIFs have been part of the big tech strategy for decades.
Spotify has some unique problems and will probably have to do a lot more than trim the fat.
However, to blame workers for what you call their 'easy' jobs is really just an insult to people that do work hard and are casualties of an executive game based on getting quarterly and yearly percentages just right to meet their bonus targets.
And to say that layoffs aren't business as usual in tech and somehow represents a sea change in the industry is just either dishonest or forgetful.
